Piperazine citrate:

Properties and indications:

AscariNois an anthelmintic of low toxicity with a high efficiency against nematodes (roundworms)especially Ascarisspecies in poultry, ruminants, equidae, dogs,cats, and rabbits.

AscariNoblocks neuromuscular transmission in the parasite which leads to flaccid paralysis. It also blocks succinate production by the worm. The parasites, paralysed and depleted of energy, are expelled by peristalsis.

Dosage and administration:

(Via Drinking Water)

Poultry:

0.25 gmAscariNo(32 mg base)/kgb.wt weight in drinking water for 2 successivedays(or in feed in each of 2 successive feedings).

Repeat treatment after 7 or 14 days.

Ruminants &Equidae: 0.90 gmAscariNo(110 mg base)/kg b.wt.

Repeat treatment after 4 weeks.

Cats & dogs:

0.35-0.50 gmAscariNo(40-60 mg base)/kg b.wt.

Repeat treatment after 14 days then at 3-month intervals.

Rabbits:

0.80 gmAscariNo(100 mg base)/kg b.wt for 2 successive days.

Repeat treatment after 14 days

Withdrawal period:

2 days from the last treatment.

Storage:

Store in a dark and a dry place at temperature not exceeding 30ْ C.
