Tilmicosin phosphate: 250mg/ml
DESCRIPTION:
ADVOTIL AC is an aqueous solution of the antibiotic tilmicosin for administration via the drinking water.
Each ml contains 250 mg Tilmicosin phosphate and excipients for stability and easy solubilisation.
Tilmicosin is produced semi-synthetically and is member of the macrolide class of antibiotics.
INDICATIONS:
For the treatment of respiratory infections in chicken flocks, associated with Mycoplasma gallisepticum, M.synoviae,
Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale, Pasteurella multocide and other organisms sensitive to tilmicosin.
DOSAGE AND ADIMINSTRATION:
Important: Must be diluted before administration to animals.
To be included in the drinking water after placement of chicken at 75 mg Tilmicosin per liter (30 ml Advotil AC per 100 liters) for 3 days.
In clinical trials this equated to a daily dose of approximately 15-20 mg/kg.
Medication applied for later disease and stress episodes at the same dose for 24 to 48 hours.
One 240 ml bottle of Advotil AC is sufficient to medicate 800 liters of drinking water for chicken.
ACTION:
Tilmicosin has an in-vitro antibacterial spectrum that is predominantly Gram –positive with activity against certain Gram-negative microorganism.
Excellent activity against several mycoplasma species has also been demonstrated.
TARGET ANIMAL SAFETY
Tilmicosin produced no adverse effects when given orally to chicken for five days via the drinking water at up to five times the recommended concentration.
